Family Home Destroyed by Fire
On Wednesday afternoon, May 26, the Johnstone family lost their home and possessions in a fire in Wantage. Joe and Patty Johnstone are 4-H leaders in the Shelton’s Shooters shooting sports club. Their three children, Andrew (17), Tyler (15) and Jessie (15) are members in this club. While no one was injured in the fire, the family did lose their six dogs. In all it was a day of devastating loss for the family.
Any help you or your family may be able to lend the Johnstones with getting back on their feet would be appreciated. Donations are being taken at the Rutgers Cooperative Extension Offices, (129 Morris Turnpike) Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Contributions such as monetary donations*, gift cards, non-perishable foods, linens, clothing, and personal items would be welcome.
Donations, including clothing, and furniture, may also be dropped off at Colesville Fire House.
Pasta Dinner Fundraiser for the Johnstone Family
June 25 at the Colesville Firehouse, beginning at 5 p.m. Sponsored by The Wantage
Fire Department/Colesville Company 2 and the Shelton Shooters 4-H Club. Money
raised will go to help the Johnstone family in rebuilding their home, which
was destroyed by fire on May 26. Tickets are $15. Children ages 6-15, tickets
are $8, and ages 5 and under are free. Cash bar. Take out available.
