Amateur Artists – meet Monday afternoons, 1-3 p.m., beginning March 5th. Have you been wanting to paint/model/sketch, etc., but can't seem to get around to it? Would you enjoy getting together with others for informal artistic afternoons? Please join us on Monday afternoons in the library’s community room. Bring whatever materials you need for your chosen media. If you have any questions, please call Barbara Young at 973-875-7864.
Bea's Kitchen— Saturdays at noon at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Rt. 23. This program provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere for those in need of a hot lunch during this cold winter season. Take out is also available. For more information call the church at 875-0919.
Clean Communities
The Wantage Clean Communities Program, under the guidance of Mr. Ken Karnas, helps us to keep Wantage clean! Report problem litter areas to the Clean Communities program through the Wantage Town Hall, 973-875-7192. Also, if you are involved with a civic group or organization looking for a clean fund raising idea, contact Ken at 973-875-5316 (evenings) about forming a clean up brigade for an area of the Township — helping keep our community clean pays off, in more ways than one! <Adopt a Road> <More on the Clean Communities Program>
DAR Museum – The DAR museum opened for the season on Saturday May 17, 2008. The museum is the grand home of the Rev. Elias VanBunshooten and dates back to the late 1700s. The museum features many original family pieces from the VanBunschooten/ Cooper families. The lovely Dutch colonial home and the outbuildings will all be open for viewing and touring. Also housed in the museum is a local genealogy library. The Chinkchewunska Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution operates the museum. It is open to the public on Thursdays and Saturdays between 1 and 4 p.m. from May 17 through October 15.  Donation is $4 for adults, $3 for senior citizens over 55 on Thursdays, and $1 for children. The museum is located at 1097, Route 23 North in Wantage Township. School and other groups are asked to please call ahead for an appointment. Contact 875-4610 for directions and appointments.
Firemen's Bingo – Bingo will be played every Sunday evening at the Beemerville Fire Hall. Doors open at 5 p.m. Bingo starts at 6:15. Refreshments available. For more information please call 875-2972.
Flea Market – May through September, Saturdays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Elks Lodge. For space rental or more information, please contact the Lodge at 875-3990 or George at 875-0838.
Elks Breakfasts – Breakfast is served at the Lodge on the second Sunday of the month from 7 to 11 a.m. Cost is $6 for adults, $4 for children ages 4 to 12, and $1 for children under 4. Proceeds to the Elks charities and Building Fund.
Elks Friday Night Dinner Dance — Fridays at the Sussex Elks Lodge from 6 to 11 p.m. to benefit the Elks' handicapped children's fund. Dinner includes a chef-prepared, full-course dinner with dessert. Cost is $10. (Dance only is $5. Dinner only is $7.) Entertainment provided by DJ Todd Taylor. For more information, please call 875-0838.
Friends of Lake Neepaulin is accepting applications for summer memberships. Located on South Shore Drive in Wantage, the lake has a white sand beach, a playground, sandbox, gazebos for protection from the sun, volleyball and badminton areas, picnic tables and grills. Swimming, fishing and non-motorized boating are major activities of interest. In addition, organized events for both children and adults are offered. Children can participate in organized playgroup fun, camp outs on the beach, fishing contests, make your own ice cream sundae nights, breakfast on the beach, etc. Adults can play bingo, attend adult theme dances and join friends in nights out to dinner. Lifeguards, certified by the American Red Cross, are available daily, and swim lessons will be offered upon request. For more information visit www.home.earthlink.net/~foln/. Membership fee is $125 for an entire family in a household located off of the lake and $225 for a household located on the lake. Heritage & Agriculture Association, Inc. is the "Friends" organization recognized by the NJ Division of Parks and Forestry for the preservation and restoration of Lusscroft farm on Neilson Rd in Wantage.  Lusscroft farm has a long and important agricultural history. HAA's mission is to see that the farm becomes a place for agricultural education and economic endeavors, cultural activities and recreational pursuits in the future. High Point Harmonizers – Attention gentlemen of all ages and experience! If you love to sing, or just want to sit and enjoy the music, join us at the Sussex Elks lodge on Wednesday evenings from 8 to 10 p.m.
High Point State Park – Activities details
Kidscope is a support group series designed for children whose life has been impacted by a loved one with a mental illness. Kids meet with other kids who understand. The groups and information provided are relevant, tailored, and age-appropriate. Children are given the opportunity for meaningful participation, to increase coping skills, and to have fun…at no cost. A new series began in Sussex County in September 2005 for teens. Ladies Auxiliary of the Sussex Fire Department—This group was formed many years ago for the sole purpose of actively supporting the Sussex Fire Department. The Sussex Fire Department is a volunteer, self-funded, non-profit organization.We support the organization by our very active fundraising campaign (to provide the emergency service volunteers with costly safety equip.m.ent that they would not be able to purchase otherwise) and by providing refreshment at rescue scenes and Bingo. Let Them Come! Family Worship Service
First Baptist Church of Sussex invites the whole family to "Let Them Come," a special Christian worship service designed to appeal to children of any age and especially appropriate for those with Autism, ADHD, ADD, Down Syndrome or other developmental / physical challenges. This lively 30-minute service accommodates short attention spans — sitting still and keeping quiet are NOT required! Meals on Wheels Needs Your Help – Brighten lives wherever you go – become a volunteer for Sussex County Meals on Wheels. By donating one hour a week of your time to help deliver meals in your community, you will enhance the well being of a homebound senior citizen. Sewing Group – The Serger/Embroidery Machine Group, a neighborhood group of the American Sewing guild, meets in the Community Room of the Library from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. All are welcome. Sussex Antlers
Are you looking for a fun way to help the community? Then the Sussex Antlers Lodge is the perfect organization for you! We organize events such as: Dances, Food Drives, Drives for Less Fortunate Families, and Benefit Dinners. We work closely with the Sussex Elks Lodge in many of their events. Interested in joining? Sussex Antlers Lodge #5 is collecting; toiletries, small packaged snacks, pens, paper, cards, gum, sunscreen, bug spray, and other misc. items for our soldiers. Small toys are also welcome, as soldiers give them to village children to ease their fears. A box will be located in the main office of the Sussex Middle School for the collection. Sussex County Adult Day Care Center — Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at the Sussex Christian Reformed Church, 51 Unionville Ave. Limited transportation available.
Sussex Help Center – provides food to Sussex-Wantage neighbors in need through a variety of programs. The storefront in Sussex distributes food for families four times a week. Funding comes from private donations, individuals and churches. It receives no Federal, State, or governmental assistance. If you would like to make a donation, please mail your check to: Sussex Help Center, PO Box 415, Sussex, NJ 07461. Non-perishable food donations are also needed. Suggestions: canned vegetables, Pork 'n' Beans, canned fruit, Jello, pudding, soup, sandwich spread, peanut butter, jelly, tuna fish, mayonnaise, canned meat, macaroni, spaghetti, sauce, rice, tea bags, powdered milk, sugar-free food for diabetics. A barrel has been set up outside the Food Barn for food donations. If you would like more information or would like to volunteer, please call 702-1922.
Sussex Kiwanis meets the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of each month at the Bella Vita Restaurant on the corner of Route 23 & Libertyville Road. Meeting time is 7 p.m.
Sussex-Wantage Over Fifty Club – Meets on the third Tuesday of the month at the Sussex Firehouse at 12:30. Refreshments are served at 11:30. New members are welcome.
Sussex-Wantage Quilting Group – this quilting group meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Library. Sussex Woman's Club – Meets the first Monday of the Month from September thru June at 7 p.m. at the Sussex/Wantage Library on Lumis Ave. Refreshments are served and the meetings are open to the public. Volunteer Opportunity – NORWESCAP/Superior Court Care Center at the Sussex County Judicial Center is in need of volunteers to assist staff in caring for children (up to age 13) while their parents or guardians are attending to court business. The Center is non profit providing a free service to the community. If you have an available morning between the hours of 8:30 and 12:30 or an afternoon from 1:30 to 4:30 during the week and would like to give of your time please call Maureen at the Care Center 973-579-7293 between the hours of 8:30 and 4:30.

Winter Fitness Program – running January through April 1. Every Mon., Tues., and Thurs. at the CE Lawrence School from 7-8:15 p.m. (unless school is closed for snow or holiday).
