ATTENTION WANTAGE DOG AND CAT
OWNERS:
If you will be attending the April 8, 2005 Free Rabies Clinic in Wantage,
from 6 - 8 p.m.,
THE RABIES VACCINATION SHALL BE VALID FOR ONE YEAR, if your dog or cat
has never been vaccinated before.
THE RABIES VACCINATION SHALL BE VALID FOR THREE YEARS, if your dog or
cat HAS been vaccinated before.
YOU MUST PROVIDE PROOF AT THE CLINIC THAT YOUR PET HAS RECEIVED A PREVIOUS
VACCINATION, in order for the rabies certificate to be filled out with
a three year vaccination at the clinic.
Valid Proof of a previous vaccination would include a rabies vaccination
certificate from a previous year, or a Dog License issued from a previous
year.
A Rabies Tag is not enough proof – We need paperwork to show that
the rabies shot was actually given to that particular pet.
It will not be sufficient to say that your dog or cat received a rabies
shot at a previous Wantage Rabies Clinic – we will not have records
readily available during the April 8 rabies clinic to verify the information.
You need to bring proof with you.
If you do not have proof of previous rabies vaccination with you at the
Rabies Clinic, the rabies vaccination certificate will be completed with
a One Year vaccination.
You may follow up at a later date, by coming to the Wantage Township Municipal
Building, Office of the Municipal Clerk, and producing the rabies certificate
from the April 8, 2005 clinic, together with your proof of prior rabies
vaccination. We will be pleased to correct and update your rabies vaccination
certificate to a three year vaccination at that time.
WE CANNOT ISSUE A THREE YEAR VACCINATION AT THE CLINIC UNLESS YOU PROVIDE
US WITH PROOF OF PREVIOUS VACCINATION AT THAT TIME.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND COOPERATION WITH RESPECT TO THIS
MATTER. |
