Bridge X-54 on Oil City Road Temporary Road Closure and Repairs
The Sussex County Office of Bridge and Traffic Safety and Division of Public Works have scheduled repairs of Bridge X-54 on Oil City Road in Wantage for the week of May 20–24. In order to perform repairs to the structural steel beams, concrete backwall, steel deck grating, and approach roadway a full closure and detour of Oil City Road will be required for the duration of construction (estimated to be one week). Prior to construction motorists will be given advanced notice via variable message boards and a posted detour will be maintained throughout the duration of the repairs. Please see the Pre-Construction notice for additional information.

Property Taxes
Soon, we will begin the process of a Township wide REASSESSMENT. You will be receiving a notice outlining the details very soon, so please watch for it in the mail. Why are we doing a reassessment? As is often the case during times when home values change radically over a short period of time, the "balance" of tax load becomes uneven between homeowners as some homes sell. The best way to resolve this unbalance is either through a REVALUATION or a REASSESSMENT. We have been ordered by the County Tax Office to perform a reassessment. If, during the process, you have any questions surrounding the reassessment, please feel free to contact our Wantage Tax Assessor - Kristy Lockburner at (973) 875-7193.
